Topic: Survival Problem

We talk about items which we should bring to island.
I thought like this.
1. Knife- can cut tree or food and so on.
2. Matches- can make a fire easily even if night or
bad weather.
3. Mirror- can make a fire and check own face.
4. Ropes- this is used when we catch the animal or fish,
cut the tree and climb a mountain or rock.
5. Work Gloves- protect body to not be injured easily.
can gather some food.
6. A pot- cook some food while using a fire and store water.
7. Clothing(cotton)- protect body from dangerous things and
can be a bandage.
8. Medicine- can recover from disease if we contract an
illness.
9. Light- in an emergency or night.
10. Book- can refresh oneself.

I would like to know necessary things in reality.

The most useful approach to use in critically analyzing
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemmingway is
Santiago as a Christ Figure. That is because Santiago
could not fish for the 40 days and had a difficulty
for 3 days as Christ did such a thing. This has great
meaning because number is very important key in
Bible. Moreover, main point of this story is what
Santiago had never give up fishing with his injury
or loneliness since he caught the big fish. Christ
also was jeered by people around him and
crucified while his body and hands were tormented.
Therefore, I thought that this approach was most
useful.

My comments on ASP class(6/4)

Topic: To practice P&D by using some slides.

We had a today's class at Bakayama. It was a first time to me,
so very funny. Before the class, we made some slides about Meiland
and in the class we practiced P&D by using it. Each person had used
a different techniques, for example using arrow or drawings to
understand easily, pictures and letter of color, and so on.
I noticed that my weak point is to look at the slide while doing
presentation and to be at a loss for words. Though I did not use
notes, I thought that I need my notes which are written only
Key words of the content to do presentation smoothly. Moreover,
I have to pay attention to whether images are proper or not because
I was said that a person could not understand what a picture means.
I felt it is important to convey the meaningful contents to audience
by using useful slides.

My comments on ASP class (5/28)

Topic: Practice P&D (Presentation&Discussion)

We practiced P&D about Meiland, it was hard for me to do
presentation without enough preparation. I did P&D with
having a note which are written key words about Meiland
contents and did not look at the note slowly and carefully
because I thought presenter do not have to read in front
of audience. However, there are difficult things about
P&D for me. When I was unable to find a suitable word,
I tend to look down and up without seeing audience.
Also, I forgot to see each audience equally because of
hastiness.
As a audience, I felt that critical thinking was very needed
because most people could not ask questions to presenter.
In today's class, I became aware of importance of practicing
P&D to have confidence and get used to it.

My comments on ASP class (5/25)

Topic: Presentation by using the google document.

I could get the useful information about google presentation
in today's class. In particular, I was glad to know that
we could insert pictures, clip arts and videos which have many
variety and size. Also, we practiced using presentation of google
document and our group chose "nattou" as a topic of
presentation, therefore title was "nattou" and subtitle was
"the charm of the nattou". I learned that title needs simple
words because audience catch the information with their eyes
and a subtitle needs more detailed content. Searching
the pictures and videos of nattou, we could not find useful one
to appeal the good points of nattou. Therefore, I thought we
might need to change the words in searching.
Though this class, I noticed that important things in
presentation are not only good contents but also
meaningful slide because audience understand the contents
by using brain, ear also eye. I would like to try using google
document at the next time of presentation.
